Kathryn's Testimony 7-19-2009
THANKING GOD FOR HEALING OF RELATIVES MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
Rob's father was deeply effected by the war, and returned home with a diagnosis of schizophrenia.
It has been hard for Tom to experience joy, but he expressed great excitement about the camping trip, and the bonding he and Rob did during it, and I believe he truly enjoyed his party today.
I am also thankful for the gradual healing of the associative disorder my cousin's adoptive son, James, has.
My cousin John adopted James from China. His mother had to hide her pregnancy by
binding her stomach.
We believe it is because of this that James has some physical problems that he feels bad about.
The cold treatment James received in the orphanage may also have something to do
with his behavior problems.
But God has blessed James' counseling sessions, and, after years of homeschooling, he is back in school and making friends.
Thank you, Lord.
LOWELL'S TESTIMONY 7-18-2009
When we were living in Tennessee, the Holy Spirit said to me "Find The Church".
That was on June 19,2000. So, I said to my wife Laura, I think the Holy Spirit wants us todecide which church we want to go to.
OnJuly 5, 2000, I was driving to Walgreens in Bristol, Tnn. to buy cherry and vanilla pipe tobacco. The cherry is too sweet by its self, so I mix it 50/50 with vanilla.
As I drove by this Christian book store, which I had never been in, the Holy Spirit said "go into that store". I thought yeah, I will some time as I drove past the store on my way to Walgreens.
After leaving Walgreens, I again drove past that same Christian book store and the Holy Spirit said "go into that store". And, again I thought yeah, I will some day.
I only made it 3 or 4 blocks past that store and the Holy Spirit was so strong and insisted that I go to that store-now!
I turned around and drove back to that store and went in. Even though this Christian bookstore probably had thousands and thousands of books, the Holy Spirit told me as soon as I walked in, "buy this book". So, I told the woman, I want this book.
The book was $24.99 and was called "The Glorious Journey" by Charles Stanley.
As soon as I got home I looked at the Contents in the book and found the subject of "Church". I immediately turned to that page and read:
"The church is made up of those who have placed their belief-their faith-in the person of Jesus Christ". And, it said: "Those who believed in Him became His church".
And, I said "BINGO"!
Therefore, when the Holy Spirit said to me, back on June 19, 2000, "Find The Church"--I did on July 6, 2000.
I will tell you this, when the Holy Spirit tells me something-I listen and I do it!
I believe they have re-named this book but it was called The Glorious Journey when I bought it. If we have a certain preacher that we call our personal angel, it would be Charles Stanley for me. Even though Adrian Rogers is my favorite preacher. We probably have 24 books by Charles Stanley and some by Adrian Rogers.
I have learned that when the Holy Spirit has something to say to you, it is short and...to the point!
Someday, I may take the time to share withyou about my Grandfather, Dr. Adolph F. Mahler, who was an evangelist and preached in every state but four. He lived to be 100 and lived in upstate N.Y., in Horseheads, N.Y. As I understand it, his wife, my Grandmother Mabel Saunders had a cousin who married Norman Vincent Peale. (The Power of Positive Thinking) Author. My Dad, Rev. William F. Mahler was also a preacher (You know what they say about preacher's son's)
I love reading my Bible, which is "The Open Bible", the New Living Translation- (Nelson). My other Bible is the "New American Standard Bible" (NASB).
It isn't that I believed ABOUT God,
It isn't that I believed IN God
It's that I believed GOD!
It is not until Jesus is all you have,
that you realize (know) He is all you need!
God's love for me is so much more than a wretch like me deserves. But, Jesus walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own .....as the song writer said.
There is NOT a love that comes even close to the love of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. When you walk in the light and when you abide in Him as He abides in you, you get the peace, joy, contentment, and love that others would not understand.
People in this world have a VOID in their heart and are starving to death and don't even know it. The answer is Repent, ask God to forgive you of your sins, accept Jesus as your personal Savior, read the Bible, follow His instructions, pray daily, and abide in Christ. Praise Him! Thank Him! And, grow in your Christian walk.
