Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona ? And Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.
We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not...
This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!

Obama’s White House is Falling Down

In the sixth month of his presidency, Obama has turned an economic downturn into an economic disaster, taking over and trashing entire companies, and driving the nation deep into deficit spending expected to pass 10 trillion dollars.

Abroad, Obama seems to have no other mode except to continue on with his endless campaign, confusing speechmaking with diplomacy. It is natural enough that Obama, whobuilt his entire campaign on high profile public speeches reported on by an adoring press, understands how to do nothing else but that.

Ego driven photo op appearances and clueless treatment of foreign dignitaries

While the press is still chewing over Obama’s Cairo speech, this celebrity style coverage ignores the fact that Obama’s endless world tour is not actually accomplishing anything. Instead his combination of ego driven photo op appearances and clueless treatment of foreign dignitaries have alienated many of America’s traditional allies. Those who aren’t being quietly angry at Obama, like Brown, Merkel or Netanyahu, instead think of him as as absurdly lightweight, as Sarkozy, King Abdullah or Putin do.

While his officials carry out their dirty economic deeds, Obama responds to any and every crisis as if it were a Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland musical, with a cry of, “Let’s put on a show.” Thus far Obama has put on “shows” across America, Europe and the Middle East. And what the adoring media coverag e neglects to cover, is that Obama’s shows have solved absolutely nothing. They have served only as high profile entertainment.

Neither alienating America’s traditional allies, through a combination of arrogant bullying and ignorance, nor appeasing America’s enemies, has yielded any actual results. Nor does it seem likely to. Islamic terrorism is not going anywhere, neither are the nuclear threats from North Korea and Iran. While Obama keeps smiling, the global situation keeps growing more grim.

At home, if Obama was elected as depression era entertainment, the charm of his smiles and his constant appearances on magazine covers appear to be wearing thin on the American public. Despite the shrill attacks on Rush Limbaugh or the Republican Enemy of the Weak-- the Democratic party of 2009, is polling a lot like the Republican party of 2008. The Democrats have suddenly become the incumbents, and the only accomplishment they can point to is lavish deficit spending, often on behalf of the very same corporations and causes they once postured against.

The European Union Parliament’s swing to the right cannot be credited to Obama, though doubtlessly some European voters seeing socialist economic crisis management on display in the world’s richest country decided they wanted none of it, but it is part of a general turning against federalism. And Obama’s entire program is dependent on heavily entrenching federalism at the expense of individual and state’s rights. Yet that is precisely his achilles heel with independent voters who are polling against more taxes and expanded government. And no amount of speeches by Obama can wish away his 18 czars or the national debt he has foisted on generation after generation of the American people.

That leaves Obama with a choice between socialism and the independent voter. And thus far he has chosen socialism.

Obama’s tactic of hijacking Bush Administration era policies on the economy and the War on Terror, and exploiting them as trojan horses to promote his own agenda, have left him coping with a backlash from his own party, as well as general Republican opposition.

His Czars are meant to function as the bones in an executive infrastructure accountable to no one, but a lack of accountability isn’t just another word for tyranny, but for incompetence. A functional chain of command is accountable at multiple levels if it is to function effectively. Obama’s White House by contrast is in a state of over-organized chaos, the sort of organized disorganization that undisciplined egotistical leftists naturally create for themselves, complete with multiple overlapp ing levels of authority and no one in charge but the man at the top, who’s too busy doing other things to actually be in charge.

The death of Chrysler at the hands of Fiat and the UAW

Meanwhile on the economy, Obama exploited the ongoing bailouts, transforming them from bailouts into takeovers meant to shift the balance of power in what had been a democracy and socially engineer not only corporations, but the lives of ordinary Americans. But the public’s patience with corporate bailouts is at an end, most Americans were never happy with them to begin with, and want them to end. The death of Chrysler at the hands of Fiat and the UAW might look like a victory in the union ranks, but it doesn’t play too well outside Detroit. And tacking on CAFE standards that will kill the pickup truck and the SUV will badly erode Obama in the swing states, if exploited properly in 2010 and 2012. Despite the constant media barrage, orchestrated out of the White House, the public is growing disenchanted with the performance of Obama and the Democrats.

With unemployment booming and the economy dropping, the jobs aren’t there and the spending is out of control. Republicans today are polling better on ethics and the economy, than the Democrats are. That shows a trend which is likely to register in the mid-term elections in 2010, in the same way that the EU parliamentary elections served as a shock to the system.

A shallow, manipulative and egotistical amateur who is in over his head

Obama has tried to play Lincoln, Reagan, JFK and FDR-- but in the end he can only play himself, a shallow, manipulative and egotistical amateur who is in over his head, and trying to drag the country down with him. Obama’s White House is falling down and while the flashbulbs are still glittering and the parties are going on in D.C. and around the world, Obama and the Democratic Congress may be headed for a recession of their own.

We're hearing a lot today about big splashy memorial services.

I want a nationwide memorial service for Darrell "Shifty" Powers.

Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of
the 506Th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry.
If you've seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the History Channel, you know
Shifty. His character appears in all 10 episodes, and Shifty himself is
interviewed in several of them.

I met Shifty in the Philadelphia airport several years ago. I didn't know
who he was at the time. I just saw an elderly gentleman having trouble
reading his ticket. I offered to help, assured him that he was at the right
gate, and noticed the "Screaming Eagle", the symbol of the 101st Airborne,
on his hat.

Making conversation, I asked him if he'd been in the 101st Airborne or if
his son was serving. He said quietly that he had been in the 101st. I
thanked him for his service, then asked him when he served, and how many
jumps he made.

Quietly and humbly, he said "Well, I guess I signed up in 1941 or so, and
was in until sometime in 1945 . . . " at which point my heart skipped.

At that point, again, very humbly, he said "I made the 5 training jumps at
Toccoa, and then jumped into Normandy . . . . do you know where Normandy
is?" At this point my heart stopped.

I told him yes, I know exactly where Normandy was, and I know what D-Day
was. At that point he said "I also made a second jump into Holland , into
Arnhem ." I was standing with a genuine war hero . . . . and then I realized
that it was June, just after the anniversary of D-Day.

I asked Shifty if he was on his way back from France , and he said "Yes. And
it's real sad because these days so few of the guys are left, and those that
are, lots of them can't make the trip." My heart was in my throat and I
didn't know what to say.

I helped Shifty get onto the plane and then realized he was back in Coach,
while I was in First Class. I sent the flight attendant back to get him and
said that I wanted to switch seats. When Shifty came forward, I got up out
of the seat and told him I wanted him to have it, that I'd take his in
coach.

He said "No, son, you enjoy that seat. Just knowing that there are still
some who remember what we did and still care is enough to make an old man
very happy." His eyes were filling up as he said it. And mine are brimming
up now as I write this.

Shifty died on June 17 after fighting cancer.

There was no parade.

No big event in Staples Center .

No wall to wall back to back 24x7 news coverage.

No weeping fans on television.

And that's not right.

Let's give Shifty his own Memorial Service, online, in our own quiet way.

(Washington, D.C., July 9, 2009) -- This fall, we will mark the 30th anniversary of the Iranian seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and the 8th anniversary of the horrific al Qaeda attacks on New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. By God's grace, more than twenty Radical Islamic terrorist attacks inside the U.S. have been thwarted since 9/11. But the threat has not diminished. Indeed, in many significant ways it has increased. We are now at the most dangerous moment of the Islamic Revolution. Jihadist leaders say they no longer simply want to terrorize Western cities; they want to annihilate them.

PRESIDENT OBAMA DENIES ISRAEL HAS "GREEN LIGHT" TO DEFEND HERSELF FROM IRAN: But top U.S. military official says time is running out. U.S. Vice President Joe Biden stunned observers this week by seeming to give Israel a green light to launch a preemptive strike against Iran's nuclear weapons facilities if Israeli leaders see no other way to protect the Jewish people from the threat of annihilation. But President Obama has now denied that the U.S. is giving such a "green light."

It will take some time to sort out the confusion. But it seems clear that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's government is preparing for the undesirable possibility that a preemptive war may be essential. Indeed, Reuters is reporting that "the top U.S. military officer warned on Tuesday that time is running out for dialogue with Tehran to avoid either a nuclear-armed Iran or a possible military strike against the Islamic Republic. Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, said it is critical for diplomatic efforts to reach a solution before Iran develops a nuclear weapon or faces an Israeli or U.S. strike to turn back its nuclear program."

The Joshua Fund considers the prospect for war sometime in 2010 or 2011 increasingly likely.

Blame or Blessing

Launch out into the deep! After preaching at the shore of the great Galilean Lake, Jesus, now tired, stepped into a boat and said to His disciples, "Let us cross over to the other side" (Mark 4:35). After they had sent away the multitude, with Jesus already in the boat, they set out across the lake. Suddenly there came a great storm! Fierce winds whipped up huge swells. The waves beat right over the gunnel's, overflowed and filled the boat, but Jesus was astern in the covered part of the boat lying on a tick mattress asleep. The disciples had done all they could, but the boat was already sinking in the raging waves. They woke Jesus up and said, "Don't you care? We are perishing." First, Jesus said to his disciples, "Why are you fearful, Oh you of little faith? (Matthew 8:26). Then, He stood up in the stormy blow and rebuked both the wind and the sea. Right then, there was a great calm. The disciples were filled with wonder and said one to the other, "Even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
Question: Why had they gotten out there and encountered that perilous storm and trouble? Because Jesus told them to! Hey, you are going to have trouble in this world, no matter what you do. Big trouble! Painful, agonizing, dreadful trouble! It is inescapable, so just make sure that the reason you are in trouble is because you are doing what the Master told you to do. A fellow by the name of Abe Lincoln, after he came to Christ--got saved--at Gettysburg, emphasized, "It doesn't matter when a man dies, or where he dies, or how he dies, but that he dies doing his duty." The disciples were in trouble for Jesus' sake, for doing what He told them to do. That is the best kind of trouble there is. Count it a joy and a privilege. Happy and blessed is the soul that is in trouble for doing that. True disciples serve Christ beyond the power of death. However, Jesus was right there with them.

He was not going to leave them or forsake them. He is going to finish what He started, come wind, come weather. Who sent the great storm and those waves? The same LORD who commanded the calm! You mean the whole thing was for the disciple's sake? Do you really believe that "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" ( Romans 8:28)? Are you Christ's disciple? His servant? Then, you are completely dependent upon Him, upon His providence and purpose. Have you complained to Him saying, "Don't You Care?" He is the only one who does care, "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" ( I Peter 5:7). True disciples don't blame Him for all their troubles. They have learned to thank Him for them.

The Wise Man?

Are you wise? Once the town of Salisbury England was besieged by an opposing army. The townsfolk shored up all the town walls and hastily made barricades and defenses, but they had no provisions, no food stores to outlast any siege. All they had was one cow and a cart full of hay.

One sharp-eyed fellow spotted an enemy lookout who'd perched himself high in a tall tree to observe what was going on in their town. The wise man with studious eyes noticed that one of the places that the lookout could see was a narrow slit between two empty storehouses. So he called for a ramp to be put between the two buildings just high enough so that the lookout would see the traffic on the ramp. The cow and cart were led from the one building and into the other on the ramp. Then the side of the cow that the lookout could see was painted with different markings, and the cow was led across again by someone else. The hay in the cart was picked up in bundles and carried across by several men. Then the side rails were taken off the cart and the hay was piled on the cart again and pushed across by others. After the side of the cow had been repainted several times and led across, the enemy lookout climbed down and reported. His commander obviously realized that if they had many cows and all that hay, there was no point in continuing the siege. The besieging army left.

As the Bible says ( Ecc. 9:13-15), "There once was a small city with only a few people in it, and a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built great siegeworks against it. Now there lived in that city a poor but wise man, and he saved the city by his wisdom but nobody remembered that poor man." The poor man's wisdom is despised and forgotten because he is poor. Did the wise man save the city for recognition or the approval of men?


Solomon observed, under the sun, in light of this world, "the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor ( acceptance) to men of skill." You have to understand that the truly wise man does not even seek it. Do you seek the approval and favor of this world? Then you are not wise, and you are still very much the enemy of God. How can you be saved? Jesus said, "How can you believe that seek honor one from another and not the honor that comes from God only?
The wise man is wise because he knows that no one can serve two masters. No one can serve God and mammon. If you are truly wise and you see with seeing eyes, you are ready to bear witness to the truth no matter what, for you are crucified with Christ;, dead to the world, dead to self and alive to God.

SON/SUN


What if I told you that you have never seen the sun in the sky in all your life? You haven't you know? You have only seen the brightness that comes from the sun. Which came first, the sun or its brightness? Did you say, "The Sun"? Then, you really missed the point. The sun never existed apart from its brightness. If it had no brightness, it would not be a sun, it would be something else. When you see the brightness, it would not be a sun, it would be something else. When you see the brightness of that bright shining orb in the sky, you don't say, "Oh look, there is the brightness that comes from the sun, that brightness that makes that round bright image of the sun in the sky and tells us that there is a sun there, even though nobody has ever actually seen the sun intself." You don't say anything like that. When you see it, you just say,"There's the sun right there, coming up over the mountains." It doesn't defame the sun to call the little tiny bit of its brightness that you happen to see in the sky the sun. It just so happens that that's the only way you do see it.
What am I getting at? Oh, notice what the Scriptures say about Christ the Son of God "....who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person (of His being) and upholding (sustaining) all things by the word of His power, when He had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high" Hebrews 1:3)


Philip was a disciiple like the rest of us, just a bit slow to get the point, and too much like us, his disappointment was due to his lack of perception. When Jesus said to His disciples, "If you really knew me, you would know my Father also: from now on, you do know Him and have seen Him". That is when Philip, out of frustration, interrupted Jesus and said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
Jesus answered, "Have I been so long with you Philip and you haven't know me. He who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father!"' (John 14:9).
The Lord absolutely forbids that He be worshiped with images, statues, and pictures, which are all the ideas of men and subject to the will of men. But, if God took unto Himself the form of a man to be a living and breathing man ( man of very man) in order to be our Kinsman Redeemer the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15), there would be no contradiction in that. All His chosen know that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.

Threshing Floor

They said that John the Baptist did no miracles, but that everything he said concerning Christ was true ( John 10:41). John said that Christ will thoroughly purge his floor (Matthew 3). What does this mean? He was talking about a summer threshing floor, a flattened and hardened clay circle, 40 feet or so in diameter. When wheat was harvested, the sheaves were brought there, and the heads of grain were beaten off. Chaff, the husk on the outside of each kernel of wheat, had to be broken away from the kernel. This was done either by the treading hooves of an ox and the wheels of an oxcart rolling round over the grain or by the wheat being beaten with clubs and flails.
After the chaff and the wheat are broken apart, they are still all mixed together. They have to be sorted, separated apart. Broken chaff is nearly the same shape, size, and color as the kernels of wheat. The process required is called winnowing. The man at the threshing floor takes a broad wooden shovel and throws both the kernels of wheat and the chaff up into the air. The heavier kernels of wheat fall straight back down, but the lighter chaff, because it lacks substance, floats in the air long enough so that the wheat winds up on the bottom when it all comes back down. The chaff that didn't blow away in the wind lands on top of the wheat. Then, the man grips a large wicker fan with both hands. b\By, waving it up and down, he blows the chaff off the wheat and all the way out to the outside of the threshing floor. When the threshing is done, the wheat is gathered into the barn, but the chaff is pushed into a pile and burned with unquenchable heat.
There's alot of flaky chaff in the professing churches today. Places bulging with the stuff! Because the actual truth of Christ is not really preached, very little threshing is going on. The chaff are floaters and the dabblers, preoccupoed with personalities and the approval of men. They just shuffle around in the breeze to find a place that suits their fancy. No real substance to them!
At the same time, there are marvelous showmen ready to entertain them, to hype them, gratify them, and give them false assurance. Man-centered preaching instead of God, preaching what you can get and how you can succeed! It's all part of the keeping-up-the-numbers, self-worship show, lavishly seasoned with artificial Gospel flavoring. Pandering to the chaff!
True disciples are not dabblers and floaters. They have lost their lives for Christ. No backing out for them! John warned all the self-gratifying men-pleasers and tricky religious politicians that Christ will thoroughly sort out and separate the true wheat from the chaff. "Who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore works befitting repentance....."
