Let the Lessons Begin Part 3This is a featured page

9-1-10 "On mine arm shall they trust." Isaiah 51:5
In times of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is compelled to cast himself on his God alone.
I have been Ministering with a number of people of late that are truly at the end of their ropes. They have faith and trust in God and turn to Him not only in their times of need but also during their times of plenty. But each one of us must go through the fires so that we may be refined and the dross would come to the surface of the ladel.

When his life or his needs are at there wits end, and no human deliverance can help, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the charge and care of God. To be in a storm that wrecks a man on a rock like this! Blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone!

There is no getting at our God sometimes because of the multitude of our friends; but when a man is so poor, so friendless, so helpless that he has nowhere else to turn, he runs into his Father's arms, and is blessedly embraced! When he is burdened with troubles so pressing and so odd, that he cannot tell them to anyone but his God, he may be thankful for them; because he will learn more of his Lord then than at any other time.

Oh, tempest-tossed believer, it is a happy trouble, (Think about it) that drives us to our Father! Now that we have only our God to trust. To see that we put our full confidence in Him. Dishonour not our Lord and Master by unworthy doubts and fears; but be strong in faith, giving glory to God. Show the world that our God is worth more then the world and it's possessions to us. Show rich men how rich we are in poverty when the Lord God is our helper.

Show the strong man how strong we are in our weakness when underneath us are the His everlasting arms. Now is the time for feats of faith and valiant exploits, making things happen that could only happen by the power of Trusting in Our Lord.

Be strong and very courageous, no matter what you "see" and the Lord our God will certainly, as surely as He built the heavens and the earth, glorify Himself in our weakness, and magnify his might in the midst of our distress. The rainbow of heaven would be spoiled if the sky were supported by a single visible column, and our faith would lose its glory if it rested on anything discernible by the carnal eye.

May the Holy Spirit give you to rest in Jesus, Amen
