Dear Servants of the Lord:

The Lord has placed in my heart to ask all people to Fast and Pray for the Unity of our Nation and to preserve the God given rights we are assured through the U.S. Constitution.
We invite you to participate in a special call to Fast and Pray on the 1st and 15th days of each
month for Revival according to 2 Chron 7:14 for our Nation, People and the State of Israel.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. [2 Chron 7:14]

This is in no way to supersede the regularly observed fasts of any faith.

The Fast and Prayer Day will be observed as follows:
• From sunset on the last day of each month to sunset on the 1st.
• From sunset on the 14th day to sunset on the 15th day of the month.

Please remember to always check with your physician prior to beginning a food fast if you
have any medical conditions or concerns.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [EPH 6:12]

I agree with Emil that if anyone has a question about whether or not to fast to ask their physician or health care provider. As one myself there are a few things I do. On the day before a fast day, I go to clear soups and jellos, applesauce or some fruit meals. During a time when you will not be eating meat (protein) you need to boost in vitamins and minerals. Some of the natural sugar in fruits will give you energy. But do a mix of juices and fruits. On the night before sunset you are going to fast, eat a salad. Then on the night coming off of a fast, eat another salad. Then follow the day after a fast in the same manner you did in preparing to fast. Too heavy a meal will really jolt your metabolism. When we change our normal eating habits it doesn't take our bodies long to react. Being gentle with our bodies before and after a fast will actually help our clarity of thinking.

Our foods in America are so poor in nutrition it is never good to completely eliminate water, and if you are older than 50 it's not wise. You can help by placing some lemon juice and a bit of sugar in the water bottle as you sip it. Both will keep one from feeling "light headed." Never exercise, play hard, or do difficult chores on the day before, during, or after a fast. Keep out of the sun, or on the beach. Extremes of anything while fasting is not a good idea. Staying quiet, meditating, reading or writing a bible lesson, or giving to others all combine to make your fast day truly a day of giving.
